Artist Statement

Composed of 6 colors of fabric, hot glue, and foam, standing at 5”8. I made this piece to be a durable costume meant for outings such as conventions. The figure features ferocious pointy teeth and sharp horns. Large ears and an even larger tail, the silhouette of the figure has a padded illusion of anthropomorphic legs adding an animalistic flare. My interest in creating wearable works of art is driven by others creativity in character design and my passion to bring them to fruition. While the viewer might have their own idea of what the personality of the character is after viewing, we cannot fully know until we experience viewing in the presence of the wearer as it is an extension of themselves.
